UPDATE: Microsoft released a new update on July 14, 2026, that fixes the issue with OLE automation that was resulting in letters appearing blank within PastPerfect 5.0.
To correct this issue, install the latest Windows update (2026-07 Cumulative Update or Security Update):

After the Microsoft Windows updates released on or after June 9, 2026, some users may experience an issue where their letters appear blank within PastPerfect 5.0. Our software uses OLE automation to open and modify Microsoft Word documents, which has been impacted by changes in this update.
Microsoft has acknowledged this issue and "a resolution is in progress and will be included in a future Windows update. More information will be shared when it becomes available."
The current workaround is to uninstall this update. If you are part of an organization that has a Microsoft Support plan, they can provide an additional workaround if contacted.
