PastPerfect 5.0's Sort by drop-down menu automatically uses whichever sort option you chose under System Parameters (either alpha or numeric) when records are sorted by Object ID or Accession Number.

In PastPerfect 4.0 you can preview the differences in how your records sort by changing a catalog’s sort order. Go into one of your catalogs (such as Objects) and locate the Sorted by drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner. In this drop-down menu, the options for Objectid(num) and Accessn(num) can be used for numeric sorting. Objectid and Accession# use alphabetic sorting. Once you have chosen one of these sort by options, click "Browse" to see at a glance how your records are sorting.
