If an Object ID number has at least two decimals or contains any letters and is exported to Microsoft Excel using PastPerfect’s Excel/HTML export, Object IDs are treated as character fields and appear as they do in PastPerfect, containing all leading/trailing zeros. If, however, an Object ID number contains only one decimal and no letters, Excel will consider the field numeric and will remove leading/trailing zeros.
To avoid this issue, export to XML rather than Excel/HTML. Then, open Excel, navigate to c:\pp4reports or c:\pp5reports, and select the exported XML file. When Excel asks, open the XML file "as an XML table". Although a bit of cleanup will need to be done, your data will now be in Excel and can be saved as an Excel Workbook.
