Applies to: Web Edition
With PastPerfect Web Edition, each user must log in with an email address and password. The Full, XL, and 2XL Packages allow for multiple user accounts. The Starter Package allows for one user account.
Before adding a user, consider if there should be restrictions placed on the user's account. Should the user have access to all areas of the software and all functions? If the user should be restricted from certain settings, program areas, and/or functions, you will first need to set up a Role and place restrictions for this user or group of users. For more information about setting up Roles & Restrictions, please visit the Web Edition User Guide or see the related article below.
When you add a new user account, you can make the user Active or Inactive. Inactive users cannot log into your software. Please note they do count toward the max number of users in your organization's package. If a user should not log into your software permanently or for an extended time, you can delete the user. If the user will be away for a short time, you can change the user's Status to Inactive. You can update the Status to Active when the user returns.
Steps to add a new user:
- Set up a Role for the user you will add (if desired). If the user should have no restrictions, you can add this user's account without setting up a Role. The user will be assigned to the Administrator role.
- From the Navigation Bar, select Settings, then click on "User Accounts."
- Click "New User."
- Enter the person's Full Name.
- Enter the person's Email.
- Select the Role for this user.
- Select the Status for this user.
- Click "Add."
- The new user will receive an automated email message, which contains a time-sensitive link to set a password. Once they set up their password, they can log into Web Edition at any time and from any location.
Please note the password setup link has a 24 hour limit for security reasons. If the new user does not get a chance to set up a password before the link expires, they can follow the "Forgot Password" steps in the related article below.
