In PastPerfect Web Edition, you can customize which fields are available for both Filter and Option fields in Catalogs and Contacts. Filter Fields are the fields you want to use for searching. Option Fields are the fields that display in the Browse grid, on reports, and in CSV exports. The fields selected in each section will apply to all users of the software.
- From the Navigation Bar, select Settings, then click on "Catalog Filter & Option Fields" or "Contact Filter & Option Fields".
- Under Catalog Filter & Option Fields, you will see different tabs for each catalog. Select the catalog you wish to update. For Contact Filter & Option Fields, you will see only one tab (Contacts).
- You will see two sections: Filter Fields (at the top of the screen) and Option Fields (at the bottom of the screen). In each section, you will also see two lists of fields: Field List (on the left) with fields to choose from, and the Filter Fields or Option Fields (on the right) with already chosen fields.
- To select fields for searching (Filter Fields) or to display in search results (Option Fields), scroll through the list of field names in the Field List. If you see a field you want to add, click once on the field name to select it, then use the right arrow button (in the center) to move the field to the list on the right. That field is now available for searching or displaying.
- By default, newly selected fields are first listed at the bottom. If you exit this screen and come back, the fields will be listed in alphabetical order. Fields are also listed alphabetically on the Query screens under Filter and Options.
