By default, all memberships in PastPerfect are active, meaning the organization intends to send renewal letters and general announcements to the contact. This means overdue memberships may be active memberships. The intention is that your organization will continue sending renewal letters and other mailings to encourage these active, but overdue members to renew.
A current membership is defined by the Membership Paid Thru date. Current memberships have Paid Thru Dates that are today or in the future. A contact with a life membership is also a current member.
If you no longer wish to send renewal notices and membership information to a contact, you will want to mark the membership as inactive. Marking a membership as inactive will remove the contact from the Memberships Overdue and Upcoming Membership Renewals standard views.
To change a membership to Inactive, check the Inactive Membership checkbox in the Membership Accordion on the contact record.
