PastPerfect Online does not maintain or directly work with any payment/e-commerce sites. There are too many variables in terms of pricing, sizes, copyright, delivery options, etc., for such an option to be included within PastPerfect Online. However, there are different ways you can offer image ordering from your PastPerfect Online site.
Since every organization has a different process for image reproduction requests, we recommend using the “Request Image” button to help your online visitors request particular images.
This button was designed to start the communication process between the web visitor and your organization about the image request. The online visitor finds the image they want, clicks the “Request Image” button, and fills out the form, which is then emailed to your organization.
When you receive the email, you can then contact that person with the specifics of the order (uses, prices, copyright, available sizes/resolutions, delivery formats, etc.) based on your organization’s procedures.
For more information about activating your Image Request button and modifying the form, please see the PastPerfect Online User Guide links in the Resources section below.
If you have an e-commerce site/online store, a simple option would be to put a link to your online store in your footer. Online visitors would then need to locate the appropriate image in the online store to purchase a reproduction.
A more complex option is possible if you have an e-commerce site where each available image has a specific URL. With this option, you would create a link on each catalog record in PastPerfect that would take an Internet visitor to a specific page in your online store for that particular image. This option would take a bit of effort and time to set up. The steps would include:
- Setting up each available image in the online store with the size and resolution options along with their pricing.
- Uploading your images to the online store (these might be large image files if downloading is a delivery option).
- Entering HTML codes for links into a Custom field on the relevant PastPerfect records.
- Uploading the newest data and the Custom field to your PastPerfect Online site.
The result would be an additional field displayed online containing a link, which would take the user to the online store.
