Once your site's setup is completed, you will receive an email from a member of the PastPerfect Online team containing general information about your site, including an attached Welcome Letter with your hosting renewal date, relevant URLs, and login information. If you requested to have your PastPerfect installation file shipped to you on physical media, a printed copy of your Welcome Letter will also be included in the package.
Your site will initially display sample records and images from our Evaluation software. These records will be automatically removed when you complete your first upload.
We put together a short 4-part video series to give a general overview of the process to update your site, available at the first link in the Resources section below. The PastPerfect Online User Guide has step-by-step instructions with screenshots for everything you need to do, but please feel free to call our office and we are happy to walk you through the process as well.
Here are the minimum steps you must take in order to upload your data to your site:
- Unlock the PastPerfect Online feature in your program using the CD, USB drive, or electronically delivered file that was provided.
- In PastPerfect, select which records you wish to share with the public.
- In the last two steps in the Web Publishing Wizard, create your web files and upload your files to our server.
- Optionally, you can specify which fields you would like shared online and a few other settings in the Web Publishing Wizard prior to creating and uploading, but there are default settings automatically in place that you can use to get started.
You will receive an email indicating when your records have finished loading to your site. Please note that image files are larger than the record data, so the images may still be loading to the site when you receive your email. Most organizations see everything (data and images) fully online within one to two hours after the upload process has completed in the PastPerfect program. If you do not receive your data load confirmation email or see your information online after two hours, please contact our support team for assistance.
